Why is Everyone at MSNBC and MSM lying about the Castro-Biden Dust-up in 3rd Presidential Debate-Castro was Right! Read the transcript here

It is disturbing to see how out of touch all of the reporters and show hosts are at all of the mainstream media TV stations. When it comes to political discussions, they start from the swamp and move outwards toward–but never getting close to–our true realities here on Earth.

Several times, outed liar host of MSNBC’s The 11th Hour Brian Williams ridicules talk of a Green New Deal, saying, that will NEVER happen. But the only option to a Green New Deal is planetary extinction, something that doesn’t compute in the feeble and disingenuous mind of Brian Williams.

So now they are all dumping on former HUD Secretary and current presidential candidate Julian Castro. They are unanimously stating that he misrepresented the statements of Joe Biden when Castro called out Biden in the debate for forgetting what he had said two minutes earlier. They lie to us and say that Biden made no mistake and that Castro just made a candidacy-ending mistake himself when he made the challenge against Biden.

But Castro was right. Here’s how it went down:

BIDEN: “… The option I’m proposing is Medicare for all — Medicare for choice. If you want Medicare, if you lose the job from your insurance — from your employer, you automatically can buy into this. You don’t have — no pre-existing condition can stop you from buying in. You get covered, period.”

Bernie Sanders and Beto O’Rourke then gave their answers to the healthcare question, followed by Castro. First, he spoke about his grandmother who is already on Medicare (not Medicaid) so would not have to buy into Medicare again under any new plan. But Biden confused the following statement with the ensuing statement by Castro:

CASTRO: “… You know, I grew up with a grandmother who had type 2 diabetes, and I watched her condition get worse and worse. But that whole time, she had Medicare. I want every single American family to have a strong Medicare plan available.”

Castro then made his next point about people who have private health insurance needing to buy in to Medicare under Biden’s plan. Biden forgot that Castro was now no longer talking about his grandmother!

CASTRO: ” I want every single American family to have a strong Medicare plan available. If they choose to hold on to strong, solid private health insurance, I believe they should be able to do. But the difference between what I support and what you support, Vice President Biden, is that you require them to opt-in and I would not require them to opt-in. They would automatically be enrolled. They wouldn’t have a buy-in.”

BIDEN: “They do not have to buy in. They do not have to buy in.”

CASTRO: “You just said that. You just said that two minutes ago. You just two minutes ago that they would have to buy in.”

BIDEN: “Do not have to buy in if you can’t afford it.”

OK, so Biden was then talking about people who can’t afford private health insurance, people who are too poor to afford it. But Castro wasn’t talking about those people needing to buy-in to Biden’s plan! He was talking about people who already had private health insurance needing to buy-in to Biden’s plan.

CASTRO: “You said they would have to buy in.”

BIDEN: “Your grandmother would not have to buy in. If she qualifies for Medicaid, she would automatically be enrolled.”

So Biden has now obviously had a brain glitch! He went off talking about people on Medicaid not having to buy into his plan! He’s forgotten that Castro was talking about people who already had private health insurance. He was not talking about his grandmother anymore at all!

CASTRO: “Are you forgetting what you said two minutes ago? Are you forgetting already what you said just two minutes ago? I mean, I can’t believe that you said two minutes ago that they [not she]had to buy in and now you’re saying they don’t have to buy in. You’re forgetting that.”

BIDEN: “I said anyone like your grandmother who has no money.”

But Castro made his Biden plan buy-in point about people who could afford private health insurance!

CASTRO: ” I mean, look, look, we need a health care system…”

BIDEN: “She — you’re automatically enrolled.”

CASTRO: “It automatically enrolls people regardless of whether they choose to opt in or not. If you lose your job, for instance, his health care plan would not automatically enroll you. You would have to opt in. My health care plan would. That’s a big difference. I’m fulfilling the legacy of Barack Obama, and you’re not.”

So why is everyone at MSNBC and ABC ( I haven’t watched the other news stations about this) lying and saying Castro was mistaken about Biden’s buy-in requirement? Why are they covering up this major brain fart by Biden? Are they themselves too feeble to work correctly through a transcript?

Castro made no critique of Biden’s age or fitness for the presidency! Yet, all of these reporters impugned Castro’s character by inventing and reporting as fact false motives for Castro’s question of Biden.

If any candidate of any age had done what Biden did in the debate, confusing Castro’s anecdote about his grandmother for Castro’s example of people who have private insurance needing to opt-in to Biden’s Medicare plan if they choose to reject their private plans, anybody would ask, “Are you forgetting what you said two minutes ago?”

As a Congressional candidate who is in debates, I can tell you that that kind of forgetting is not hard to do regardless of one’s age!

All of these hacks at MSNBC and elsewhere, especially Chris Matthews, Brian Williams, Rev. Al Sharpton (accused Castro of fabricating a lie), Jonathan Lemire, and Nicolle Wallace and her guests today, Chuck Todd, Susan Page, Ari Melber, Alexi McCann need to correct their reporting and apologize now to Julian Castro or resign for overtly misusing the press and conveying fake news to interfere in our presidential election.

Chuck Todd on Meet the Press Daily cited Politifact’s critique of Castro as the basis for him condemning Castro. However, Politifact in making its case excised completely the salient comments about Castro’s grandmother and the theoretical person with private health insurance giving that up for Medicare. Politifact then connected Castro’s challenge to Biden to an earlier comment by Castro, falsely linking the two:

CASTRO: “The problem with your plan is that it leaves 10 million people uncovered. … The difference between what I support and what you support, Vice President Biden, is that you require them to opt in, and I would not require them to opt in. They would automatically be enrolled. That’s a big difference. Because Barack Obama’s vision was not to leave 10 million uncovered. He wanted every single person in this country covered. My plan would do that. Your plan would not.”

So Politifact misled the entire mainstream media that look to it for authority on veracity. They made it look as though Castro had said that every one of 10 million uncovered would have to opt-in to Biden’s plan, which would be a false statement. But Castro said only that those on private insurance who chose to abandon it for the new Medicare would have to opt-in to Biden’s plan.

Politifact owes Julian Castro, the media and the American public a quick retraction and apology.
