Caffrey: We can eliminate 15 of 24 Dem Pres. candidates for nuclear power and fracking support-Only 2 Against Both

All positions taken from the wikipedia page: Political positions of the 2020 Democratic Party presidential primary candidates

Out of 24 candidates currently running for the Democratic party’s presidential nomination, most have already expressed positions on fracking and nuclear power that absolutely disqualify them. So scratch these people off your list:

Support nuclear power:

Michael Bennet (and supports only partial ban on offshore oil drilling)

Joe Biden (and supports only partial ban on offshore oil drilling)

Cory Booker

Pete Buttigieg

John Delaney

Jay Inslee (so disappointing for a climate hawk, but he runs the most radiation-poisoned state)

Amy Klobuchar

Seth Moulton

Tim Ryan

Eric Swalwell

Andrew Yang

So that’s eleven you can scratch off. Still leaves 13 candidates.

Pro-fracking:

Steve Bullock

John Hickenlooper

Beto O’Rourke (also against banning offshore oil drilling)

Marianne Williamson (only supports partial ban on fracking)

Four more to scratch off!

Nine left!

Only TWO have come out against nuclear power and in support of the fracking ban. Other seven have an unknown position on one or the other

Julian Castro (unknown position on nuclear power or fracking)

Bill DeBlasio (unknown position on nuclear power. Supports fracking ban)

Tulsi Gabbard (against nuclear power and supports fracking ban)

Kirsten Gillibrand (against nuclear power. Unknown position on fracking)

Mike Gravel (against nuclear power. Unknown position on fracking)

Kamala Harris (against nuclear power. Unknown position on fracking)

Wayne Messam (unknown position on nuclear power or fracking)

Bernie Sanders (against nuclear power and supports fracking ban)

Elizabeth Warren (against nuclear power. Unknown position on fracking)
